Who am I...I have a passion for animals that begins as the organismal levels and expands down to the cellular. As someone who grew up reading animal encyclopedias into the late hours of the night, animals fascinate me and they continue to drive my scientific endeavors to this day. With a background in animal husbandry, I have experience working with multiple taxa in a captive setting. During this part of my life, I gained a deeply rooted enthusiasm for teaching scientific concepts in a free-choice learning environment through public engagement and outreach. Outside of animal husbandry, I have spent time participating in a project that fostered an interdisciplinary approach to fieldwork, applying engineering concepts and tools fieldwork. In addition to the hours spent hiking in African savannahs and trudging through Arkansas’s wetlands, I have spent countless hours improving my bench skills in laboratories. To simply put it, animals are weird, animals are wacky, and I want to know as much as I possibly can about them.
